What is a Transcript?
A transcript is a detailed record of your marks or grades that has been generated by your current or former university. Usually, this will be a document, either on paper or online, with a list or table of the individual modules, papers, or courses you have completed, along with a numerical and/or letter grade against each. It may also include an overall grade for your qualification.

What Are Transcripts?
Transcripts are official verification of your educational records, including mark sheets and degree/diploma certificates, from your respective university or institution. They are also known as attestation of certificates.
If you have not yet completed your degree or do not have access to your final results, you need to submit an interim/provisional transcript from your institution with details of the grades you have received so far.
An official transcript will often have a signature or stamp for certification or be sent through a secure electronic sharing system like Digitary. Screenshots or provisional transcripts issued by your institution are also accepted for assessment if they clearly state your name, institution, qualification, and grades. A Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR) can also be used.
If your institution does not issue transcripts in English, you must provide both the original-language transcript and a certified translation (signed and stamped by your institution or an official translator).
A degree certificate alone is not equivalent to a transcript, as it does not include detailed grade information.
What If I Cannot Obtain a Transcript?
If you cannot obtain a transcript, you must instead provide a formal letter from your former academic institution. This letter should explicitly state why the institution cannot provide a transcript and confirm your course details and years of study.

After submitting all mark sheets and degree/diploma certificates, the university verifies the documents.

They then prepare a single transcript covering all semester/year-wise mark sheets on one sheet.

It does not include the degree certificate (depends on the university).

This is known as the standard transcript format.
- Attestation Format

After submission of all documents, the institution verifies them and seals and signs the photocopies of all mark sheets and degree/diploma certificates.

Each semester/year-wise mark sheet is provided separately along with the degree certificate.

- Both formats are accepted by credential evaluation services like WES, ICES, ICAS, IQAS, CES, etc.
Medium of Instruction
The Medium of Instruction document provides details of your marks/grades along with subject names and subject codes. It confirms the language of instruction used throughout your academic program for both UG and PG courses. This document is issued by your university or institution and is usually available only as a physical document.
